Recorded August 2005 by the U.S. Air Force
Academy Band in Colorado Springs, CO.

The First Movement, "His Promise",
is about God's Promise of Everlasting Life.
The 2nd Movement, "His Plan",
is about God's Plan for each of his children.
The 3rd Movement, "His Power",
is a reminder of God's Power over the universe.
The Fourth Movement, "His Place",
as originally commissioned by Donna Payton, mother of Michael T. Hughes, and is a commemoration of his life.
Michael, a saxophone performance major, was a graduate of the
University of Central Arkansas. "HIs Place" represents the composer's
depiction of a loved one who has left this world and gone to a much
better place. In the beginning of the piece, our beloved has suddenly
entered a new world. He hears the rustle of Angels' wings and the
Middle Eastern modality of major/minor colors and moves towards the
sound of percussion and brass fanfares. He quickly ascends the steps to
his Father's City - "His Place". Upon reaching the Gates of Heaven, our
loved one sees the "many mansions" laid out before him, and finally
discovers His Place.
