Charles Booker's Radiant Blues - Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra
had its orchestra premier on March 2nd at Texas State University, San Marcus, Texas
with Todd Oxford performing on Alto Saxophone and Howard Hudiburg conducting the TSU Symphony Orchestra.

For Wind Band
Then in April, at the University of Central Arkansas, the band version of Radiant Blues - Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Band, was
premiered and recorded by the University of Central Arkansas Wind Ensemble under the baton of Dr. Ricky Brooks at their
annual Spring Concert. The concerto was commissioned by and dedicated to Dr. Jackie Lamar, professor of Saxophone at UCA,
and she performed the solo with the UCA wind ensemble at the premiere.
Dr. Lamar also performed the concerto in piano reduction form at the
North American Saxophone Alliance 2008 International Biennial Conference April 16-19, at the U. of South Carolina.
